A foundation created in 1999 by alumni, patrons, and other friends united by a desire to support and encourage education in the Asotin-Anatone School District
Four specific areas have been targeted.
First, expand the existing scholarship program for seniors.
Second, make cash grants available to teachers or interested citizens to assist in extending and enhancing student learning opportunites.
Third, the Beatrice Taplin Excellence in Teaching Award. Anyone may nominate a teacher for this award. The nominee must be a certified teacher in the Asotin-Anatone School District for at least two years, be involved in extracurricular activities, and show community involvement.
Fourth, the Effie Curry Boak Scholarship Fund. This scholarship Fund has been set to award a $1,000.00 scholarship to an Asotin High School graduate who is in the college of education program. The student must be of junior standing and in the college of education with the intent of becoming a teacher. The student may also qualify for a $1,000.00 scholarship their senior year in college.
